[Q 629] Ruling On Touching Islamic Books Without Wudu

What is the ruling on touching books of Seerah without wudhu

ANSWER:

It is permissible but disliked to touch books of Seerah or other Islamic books without Wudu. Out of respect for islamic knowledge, we should always make sure we are in a state of wudu before touching such books.
As for the Quran, it is not permissible to touch it without Wudu. The same thing applies to verses of the Quran if they are found in any other book i.e it is not permissible to touch that part of the page without Wudu.
It is written in Radd Al-Muhtaar:
لا يحرم في غير المصحف إلا بالمكتوب: أي موضع الكتابة
(Radd Al Muhtaar, 1/173, Beirut)
