Question

When someone passes away some people who we were in need, and الله عزوجل was also in need. Meaning in need of the person that passed away. How is it say this?

بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم
الجواب بعون الملك الوهاب اللهم هداية الحق والصواب

Answer

The apparent meaning of the statement mentioned in the question is that Allah عَزَّوَجَلَّ is needy of or dependent on that person, and according to this meaning, it is a statement of disbelief. It is necessary to avoid such statements.

If someone has uttered it, then repentance and renewal of faith become obligatory upon them.

It is stated in the book titled ‘Kufriyah Kalimaat Kay Baray Main Suwal Jawab’:

Question: A pious worshipper passed away, upon which a neighbor said: ‘Allah عَزَّوَجَلَّ takes away good people quickly because Allah عَزَّوَجَلَّ also needs such people.’ What is the ruling on this statement of the neighbor?

Answer: The statement of the neighbor is a statement of disbelief. The Islamic belief is that Allah عَزَّوَجَلَّ is not in need of anyone; He is Self-Sufficient. Accordingly, the esteemed Islamic jurists رَحِمَہُمُ اللہُ السّلام state: If someone said concerning a deceased person: ‘O people! Allah Almighty is more in need of him than you,’ then saying this is disbelief.
