الجواب بعون الملك الوهاب اللهم هداية الحق والصواب

Answer

Yes, bleeding during pregnancy is considered Istiḥāḍah (non-menstrual bleeding). Istiḥāḍah does not excuse a woman from praying, nor from fasting.

Istiḥāḍah bleeding does not necessitate doing Ghusl. Instead, it suffices to simply wash wherever there is blood, from one’s body or clothes, and then to do Wudu. Istiḥāḍah bleeding does not necessitate Ghusl, but it does invalidate one’s Wudu.

It is stated in Bahar-e-Shariat:
“Istiḥāḍah neither excuses a woman from praying, nor from fasting, and neither does it make it Haram to have spousal relations with such a woman.

(Bahar-e-Shariat, Vol. 1, Part 2, Pg. 385, Maktaba-tul-Madina)

Mufti Muhammad Sajid Attari, in his book, “Khawateen Ke Makhsoos Masail”, writes:
“If a woman sees blood during pregnancy, it is considered Istiḥāḍah. The woman will perform prayer and may have spousal relations with her husband, even if it is during the days of her usual menstrual cycle.”

(Khawateen Ke Makhsoos Masail, Pg. 109, Maktaba-tul-Madina)
