[Q 659] Tawaf al-Ziyarah Before Qurbani

QUESTION:

Agar koi 10th Zukhijja ko bare shaitan ki Rami ke baad tawafe ziarat ke liye chala jae, aur phir baad me qurbani aur halq karta hai.
To kya ye tariqa thik hai? Ya koi dam wagaira lazim hoga?

ANSWER:

It is Sunnah that Tawaf al-Ziyarah be performed after Rami (stoning), Qurbani (sacrifice), and Halq (shaving the head), and this order should be observed as much as possible.

Therefore, performing Tawaf al-Ziyarah immediately after Rami is contrary to the Sunnah. However, if someone does so, no Dam (compensatory sacrifice) or other penalty becomes necessary.

It is stated in Durr al-Mukhtar:

“والترتيب الآتي) بيانه: (بين الرمي والحلق والذبح يوم النحر) وأما الترتيب بين الطواف وبين الرمي والحلق فسنة فلو طاف قبل الرمي والحلق لا شيء عليه ويكره لباب”
(Durr al-Mukhtar ma‘a Radd al-Muhtar, Vol. 2, p. 470)
