[Q 179] Ruling Regarding Ihram on those traveling from UK to Madinah via Jeddah

Question

If a Muslim is traveling from the UK to Madinah with a stay of 2 or more hours at Jeddah airport, is it required for him/her to wear ihram and make niyyat of umrah?

Answer

The person going from Uk to Madinah al-Munawarah زادها الله شرفا وتعظيما and he has a short stay at Jeddah airport then it is not necessary for him to start the Ihram nor make the intention of Umrah.
