Question
It’s disliked for women to visit graves.
My question is, can women go to recite Quran and visit their parents in the graveyard in parda if also they won’t cry there?
Would they be sinful if they go occasionally? (Not every week)
There are women who go to shopping malls and to towns but then they say that going to graveyard is prohibited.
I mean is it the same gunah to go outside for shopping and to graveyard? Or is it more sinful to go to graveyard than going to shopping malls (even if u don’t cry there and just want to visit a loved one and recite Quran in parda)?
Or is there any “gunjaish” to go occasionally?

Answer
Due to the circumstances of the time and the general habits of women, scholars have prohibited women from going to graveyards. For isal-e-thawab, one can perform recitation from home and convey the reward. Going to the graveyard for this purpose is not necessary.
Since this ruling is for the protection from the circumstances of the time and from fitna, if a woman goes to a graveyard and does not commit any prohibited act, then in such a case, there will be no ruling of sin. However, she is still commanded to act upon the guidelines provided by the scholars.
Similarly, it is also prohibited for a woman to go to the market without any reason. However, going to the market for a need or necessity is permissible, and in such a case, she will not be sinful, provided she observes purdah etc.
