QUESTION:
mufti sahab is it permissible to pray in multi faith rooms such as in airports
Basically they are usually in airports a place where any one can come and pray usually mostly Muslim come there All religions and come there some have chairs like in a church with bible and podium and has the Quran and prayer rug Some rooms are just and empty space with prayer rugs۔
ANSWER:
It is permissible to perform Ṣalāh (prayer) in the room mentioned in the question, because it is not regarded as a place of worship specifically designated for the Kuffār (disbelievers), where going would be impermissible and sinful. Rather, it is a place designated for people of all religions to worship and is not exclusive to any one religion.
However, it is necessary to ensure that there is no picture, statue of an idol, or anything similar directly in front of the person praying. Otherwise, the Ṣalāh will become Makrūh Taḥrīmī (prohibitively disliked, close to impermissible) and Wājib-ul-I‘ādah (necessary to repeat).
