[Q 597] Statement About Prophet’s Presence

QUESTION:

Mehfil mei mowjood hai aaq esa lagta hai

Kya ke jumla quran or hadis ke roshni mei jaiz hai?

ANSWER:

All Anbiya (prophets) عليهم السلام are alive in their respective graves and observe the conditions of the Ummah, and Allah تبارک و تعالیٰ has granted them this power and authority that they may go wherever they wish. However, to believe that they attend every gathering is not correct.

The couplet mentioned in the question is as follows:

“Yaad Nabi ka gulshan mehka mehka lagta hai
Mehfil mein maujood hain Aaqa aisa lagta hai.”

Therefore, saying this sentence as an expression of hope, husn-e-zann (having a good opinion), and as a supplication is permissible. However, to say it while believing with certainty that the blessed presence (tashreef aawri) has definitely occurred is not correct, nor is it appropriate to express such matters among the general public.

It is stated in Fatawa Razawiyyah:

رسول ﷲ صلی ﷲ تعالی علیہ وسلم اور تمام انبیاء کرام علیہم الصلوۃ والسلام حیقیقۃ ایسے ہی زندہ ہیں جیسے رونق افروزی دنیا کے زمانہ میں تھے، ان کی موت یک آن کے لئے تصدیق وعدہ الہیہ کل نفس ذائقۃ الموت۔
کے واسطے ہوتی ہے، پھر وہ ہمیشہ ہمیشہ بحیات حقیقی جسمانی دنیاوی زندہ ہیں، نمازیں پڑھتے ہیں، حج کرتے ہیں، مجالس خیرمیں تشریف لے جاتے ہیں، کھانا پینا سب کچھ دنیا کی طرح بے کسی آلائش کے جاری ہیںکما نطقت بہ الاحادیث وائمۃ القدیم والحدیث۔

Rasool Allah صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم and all the Anbiya عليهم الصلوۃ والسلام are truly alive just as they were during their worldly life. Their death occurs for a moment in order to fulfill the divine promise “كل نفس ذائقة الموت” (Every soul shall taste death). Then they remain forever alive with a real, physical, worldly life. They perform Salah (prayer), perform Hajj (pilgrimage), attend gatherings of goodness, and eating and drinking continues for them just like in the world without any impurity, as established by Hadith and the Imams of earlier and later times.

مجالس خیرمیں حضوراقدس صلی ﷲ تعالی علیہ وسلم کی تشریف آوری اکابراولیاء نے مشاہدہ فرمائی اور بیان کیا،کما فی بہجۃ الاسرارللامام الاوحد ابی الحسن نورالدین اللخمی الشطنوفی وتنویرالحوالک للامام جلال الملۃ و الدین السیوطی وغیرھما لغیرھما رحمۃ اﷲ تعالی علیھم۔
جیساکہ بہجۃالاسرار (مصنفہ) امام یکتائے زمانہ ابوالحسن نورالدین علی لخمی شطنوفی نے اور تنویرالحوالک میں امام جلال الدین سیوطی نے اور ان دو کے علاوہ دوسرے حضرات نے اپنی اپنی کتابوں میں ذکر فرمایا، ان سب پر ﷲ تعالی کی رحمت ہو۔مگر یہ کوئی کلیہ نہیں سرکار کا کرم ہے جس پر ہو جب ہو۔

he حضور اقدس صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم attending gatherings of goodness has been witnessed and reported by great Awliya (saints), as mentioned in “Bahjat al-Asrar” by Imam Abu al-Hasan Nooruddin al-Lakhmi al-Shatnufi and “Tanwir al-Hawalik” by Imam Jalaluddin al-Suyuti and others رحمۃ اللہ تعالی علیہم. However, this is not a universal rule; rather, it is the grace of the Master upon whomsoever He wills.
