[Q 626] Intimacy with Multiple Wives at the Same Time

If you have more than one wife, is it permissible to have sexual contact with them both together As in a three sum..

Having intercourse with two wives at one time (known as a threesome) is prohibited. This goes against the commands of islam. Furthermore, this would require one wife to reveal her A’wrah (parts of the body necessary to cover from others) in front of the other wife, which is also not permissible.

It is not permissible for a man to have sexual contact with one of his wives if the other one is present in the same place. Having sexual relations with them at the same time is even worse than that.

Such heinous ideas have become pervasive in society due to improper use of the internet. As Muslims, we must practice modesty and avoid engaging in or discussing such immoral things.

It has been narrated in a Hadith:

سألت الحسن، أو سئل، عن رجل تكون له امرأتان في بيت قال: ((كانوا يكرهون الوجس،  وهو أن يطأ إحداهما والأخرى تنظر أو تسمع))

(Musannaf Ibn Abi Shaybah, 4/37, Beirut)

It is stated in Fatwa Alamgiri:

يكره أن يطأ إحداهما بحضرة الأخرى حتى لو طلب وطأها لم تلزمها الإجابة ولا تصير في الامتناع ناشزة ولا خلاف في هذه المسائل
