[Q 583] Braided Hair for Men

QUESTION:

Is it allowed for Brothers to have braided hair ?

ANSWER:

For a man to braid his hair is not permissible and is Haram, because this resembles women, and in the Hadith, a curse has been mentioned upon men who imitate women.

It is stated in Bukhari Sharif:

’’عن ابن عباس رضي الله عنهما قال: لعن رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم المتشبهين من الرجال بالنساء، والمتشبهات من النساء بالرجال“
(Sahih Bukhari, Hadith no. 5885)
