[Q 282] Performing Sunnah Before Fard When Time is Limited

Question

If there is not enough time left, can one Pray the 4 Fard (Fard) of Zuhur first, and then the 4 Sunnah (Sunnah), and then 2 Sunnah?

Answer

If there is a predominant assumption that one can perform the Sunnah prayers first and still have time to perform the Fard prayers within the prescribed time, then one should perform the Sunnah prayers first followed by the Fard.

However, if there is a doubt that the time will pass while performing the Sunnah prayers and the prayer will become Qaza, then in such a case, perform the Fard prayers first and then the Sunnah prayers. However, do not make this a habit, as the Sunnah prayers that are performed before the Fard should ideally be performed before the Fard if possible, as this is the Sunnah method.
