Can we make an intention for umrah once you have landed in Saudi, checked in your hotel etc then go out to perform your umrah?

الجواب بعون الملك الوهاب اللهم هداية الحق والصواب
Answer
In Saudi, people generally land in Jeddah, and Jeddah falls within the boundaries of Miqat. Whereas for those going for Umrah, it is necessary to make the intention of Ihram and start the Ihram before reaching Miqat. Entering the Miqat without Ihram is forbidden (Haram) and this way, Dam becomes obligatory. Therefore, one must begin Ihram before landing.
Yes, if you are landing at an airport other than Jeddah, which is outside the Miqat, then it is not necessary to start Ihram.
