Is it advised to sit and comb your beard? I’ve read that if you stand and comb your beard, it causes depression.

Answer

It is preferable (i.e. Mustahab) to comb the beard while sitting down. Some pious predecessors have stated that combing the beard while standing increases debt, whereas doing it while sitting eliminates debt.

This is not a Hadith, but rather a saying of some pious predecessors, hence it is advisable to act upon it. However, if someone combs their beard while standing, it is a permissible act, and they will not be considered sinful.

As for the statement about depression mentioned in the question, we do not have information about that.
