Question
Is it permissible for someone in the state of ihram to wear a stitched garment or sunglasses because the sun is too bright and it’s difficult to see or a belt bag to keep passports or ID documents safe please?
Would the bag be regarded as a stitched garment?

الجواب بعون الملك الوهاب اللهم هداية الحق والصواب
Answer
For someone in the state of ihram, it is permissible to wear sunglasses or to hang a bag tied around the waist for keeping passports, etc. However, wearing stitched clothes without a valid reason is impermissible and sinful for men. If worn for a short time, charity equivalent to the amount of Sadaqah Fitr is required as expiation (Kaffarah), and if worn for a whole day or night, then offering a Dam becomes obligatory.
