[Q 193] Islamic Ruling on Men’s Metallic Chains

What is the ruling on wearing the following chain and chains in general?

بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم

الجواب بعون الملك الوهاب اللهم هداية الحق والصواب

The use of any kind of metallic jewelry is prohibited for men, except for a silver ring with one gemstone, weighing less than one مثقال (4.374 grams). Therefore, a man will not be allowed to wear this or any other metallic chain.

Sadr us Shariah, Mufti Amjad Ali Aazmi عليه الرحمة, states: ‘Wearing jewelry for men is absolutely forbidden. Only a silver ring is permissible, which should weigh less than one mithqal i.e. 4.5 masha.
