What is the ruling to replying to salaam with a gesture during Salah?

الجواب بعون الملك الوهاب اللهم هداية الحق والصواب

Answer

It is Makruh (disliked) to answer to the Salam with a gesture of the head or hand during prayer, so it should be avoided because it distracts the attention in prayer and does not maintain Khushu (خشوع).
