Question
Is it permissible to share Qur’an Verses or Hadith Mubarak in WhatsApp statuses and other social media, knowing that the receiver may touch the screen whilst tapping through status updates and touch the blessed verses / Hadith Mubarak without Wudu?
And would the ruling be different if it was the translation in English of the Verses rather than original Arabic?

الجواب بعون الملك الوهاب اللهم هداية الحق والصواب
Answer
There is no harm in sharing a Hadith or Quranic verse or its translation or posting it as a status.
The detail regarding this is that it is good etiquette to touch the words of the Holy Hadith after performing Wudu, but there is no sin in touching the Hadith without Wudu.
And it is not permissible to touch a Quranic verse or its translation, whether it is in any language, without Wudu.
But this ruling is for written text on paper etc. As for text displayed on a mobile screen, there is a difference of opinion among Scholars regarding touching a Quranic verse without wudu. Some Scholars prohibit it while some permit it. Those who permit say that actually the verse is not touched here, there is a glass in between, so there is no issue. However, to be on the safe side it is better to touch the verse on a mobile screen with Wudu.
According to the above detail, the one sharing is not sinful. However, whoever sees the verse or translation, it is better he takes precaution and they do not touch it without wudu.
