Question

It’s often heard by the scholars that Imam Abu Hanifa رضي الله عنه had the vision of Allah Almighty 100 times, however this leads to a question..

That if Imam Abu Hanifa could gain the vision of Allah سبحانه وتعالى then why could Sayyiduna Musa عليه السلام not gain the vision of Allah سبحانه وتعالى ?

بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم

الجواب بعون الملك الوهاب اللهم هداية الحق والصواب

Answer

On Mount Tur, Prophet Musa علیہ السلام was not shown the vision of Allah سبحانه وتعالىٰ with the physical eyes, and not being shown with the physical eyes does not negate the fact that he was not shown with the vision of the heart, rather it is possible that he was shown with the vision of the heart.

And Imam Azam Abu Hanifa, رحمة الله عليه, who saw Allah سبحانه وتعالىٰ, also happened inside a dream, not with physical eyes, because in the life of this world, seeing Allah سبحانه وتعالىٰ with physical eyes is only special with our Prophet Muhammad ﷺ that apart from him, this rank, status and honor is not attained by any other creature/humans, even to the extent that other Prophets علیہم السلام, have not attained it. Seeing Allah سبحانه وتعالىٰ is a matter of vision of the heart or in a dream, which is obtained not only by the Prophets but also by the Great Saints.
