Specified Days for Khattam for the Deceased

Question

Has it been specified in Sunnah/Hadith that khattam for the deceased is to be done on the fourth, fifteenth, fortieth days or annually on the day the deceased passed away?

Answer

The fourth, fifteenth, fortieth or anniversary of the deceased are sources of reward (isal e sawab) and giving reward (isal e sawab) is proven by many ahadees. And the days appointed for it are appointed for commemoration, and it is permissible to do so, because the Shari’ah has not prohibited this act and that act which the Shari’ah does not prohibit, that is permissible
