Interpretation of ‘Israel’ in Qur’an and Cursing on lsrael Country

Question

The word إسراءيل is used in the Quran. Is this the same word as the country Israel. And can we curse the country Israel? Israel is oppressing Palestine.

Answer

The word Israel used in the Qur’an is not the country of Israel. Rather, it is the title (laqab) of Prophet of Allah (Hazart Yaqub علیہ السلام).

If anyone does curse the country Israel, he will not be sinner because his means the country, but he should add the word country or should use the word unbelievers, Jews wrongdoers etc.
