My Father and Children are in Pakistan and I am in UK. I want to pay sadqah e Fitr on their behalf. Do I pay sadqah e Fitr according to the rate in the UK or the rate in PAK?
Answer
Sadqah e Fitr will be paid according to the rate in the country where the person whom it is Wajib upon, is residing in. For instance in the scenario mentioned, the questioner will pay sadqah e Fitr on behalf of his father according to the rate in Pakistan because Sadqah e Fitr of father is not Wajib on him.
However, the questioner will pay Sadqah e Fitr on behalf of himself and his children according to the rate in the country he is residing in as Sadqah e Fitr on behalf of his children is Wajib upon him.
