Saying RIP to a Non-Muslim

Question

How is it to say RIP to a Non-Muslim who has died? 

Answer

RIP (Rest in peace) is a sentence of Du’a, which gives the meaning of forgiveness for the dead. And Scholars have declared that making du’a of forgiveness for a non Muslim who has died is kufr. 

Therefore, saying RIP is impermissible.
