Nisab of Udhiya (Qurbani)

Question

On how much wealth the Udhiya (Qurbani) is Wajib?

Answer

Udhiya (Qurbani) is Wajib (necessary) upon every:

(1) sane (2) mature (3) Muslim

(4) who is not a traveler (5) who owns wealth that reaches the Nisab.

Gold, silver, currency, business stock and value of all those possessions (land, house etc.) which are extra and not under Haajat-e-Asaliyyah (basic needs) will be considered when calculating ones wealth.

The Nisab is 52.5 Tola \ 612.36g Silver value which is approximately £347 [at today’s rate 02/06/2022]
